Hotspring Sanatorium of Gudao Town is located to the north of the embouchure of Yellow River and at the openg side of Immortal Channel with an area of 170 thousands sq.m. and the area of varied architecture in it totaled more than 10 thousands sq.m.. It is composed of recuperation zone and living zone. With elegant engvironment and perfect medical treatment facilities, the sanatorium is famous for the hotspring of high medical value. In May of 1972, a drilling team of Gudao's oil extraction factory was drilling here, days after nights, they were close to the scheduled depth. It was disappointed that there was no oil layer, while it was excited to find that hot fountain surged out along the drilling pole. The temperature of the fountain was 86 centigrade and the yield was up to 360 steres. The assay results indicated that the fountain was highly mineralized by sodium chloride-contained mineral water. It took the labor union of Shenggli Oilfield 3 years to establish this sanatorium since July of 1973. It was put into use since June, 1976. Since theng Yellow River Delta had its own sanatorium. It is determined that the mineralization degree of Gudao fountain is about 15.45 g/L, the water quality tallies with the national standard of silicon- and bromine-contained namma and closes to the national standard of iodin-, vitriol- and niton-contained namma. So the water have medical value and it has outstanding curative effect on high blood pressure, neuralgia, rheumatism, dermatosis and matron coldness diseases.
