The biggest plain reservoir of China --------------GUANGNAN reservoir, also named Swan Lake, inlays on the yellow river delta like a brilliant pearl. It is located beside the LAIZHOU bay, far from eastern city and western city about 15 and 40 kilometers separately. To the north of it is JIGUANG highway,south is ZHIMAI River, and |
east is GUANGLI harbor. In October, more than teng thousands of workers and hundreds of machines were organized by Shenggli Oilfield to construct the reservoir.
After three years and five months ,it was finished in March 1986. The GUANGNAN reservoir has an area more than 58,500 mu, whose dyke is 71 kilometers long. GUNAGNAN reservior is 8 kilometers long from south to north, and 5 kilometers long from east to west, which looks like a echelon. There is a center island in the reservoir, with a total area of 60 thousands square meters; there is a dock to anchor the boat, which covers 72 hundred square meters; and four ˇ°biological islandsˇ±, which covers 1800 square meters. The center island is surrounded by stones, which looks like a water-city. There are more than 100 kinds of birds living on the island, for example, white swan, gloom swan and black swan etc; furthermore, there are 20 kinds of fish, the most famous species are Yellow River carp, Yellow river saury, shrimp, and tortoise. GUANGNAN reservoir welcomes the friengds from all around the world. |
